This year the Evergreen UWCD saw record submissions for their scholarship program. The Education Committee decided to ask students to create a video reel PSA about what groundwater means to them titled, Water in the Evergreen, Water For Our Future. The students were given sample videos as starting points. We wanted to see the impact that water use, conservation, and, education had on their own lives. In the end two submissions stood out and were chosen as first and second place recipients of our 2025 Evergreen Scholarship!
First Place
Sadie Hartman
Ms. Sadie Hartman submitted a well-researched video presentation, incorporating data from the Texas Water Development Board, the Evergreen UWCD, and the U.S. Geological Survey. She effectively connected household water conservation practices to broader regional usage and impacts across our district. Excellent work, Sadie!

Second Place
Chloe Nieschwitz
Ms. Chloe Nieschwitz submitted a thoughtful video that left a strong impression on the Education Committee, particularly with her powerful statement, “Water isn’t just a resource, it’s survival.” She provided practical examples of how we all can conserve water at home and highlighted the important fact that 90% of Texans depend on groundwater. Her message was informative and inspiring. Great job, Chloe!
