SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY 2026
The EUWCD’s goal for this year’s scholarship contest is to highlight the talent and knowledge within the district while educating the public about the value of groundwater and the necessity of conserving and protecting water resources. There will be one winner per county (Frio, Atascosa, Wilson, & Karnes). Students should focus on their local region for information on aquifers and conservation of resources.
BUILD A CAMPAIGN
You are a community manager advocating for a call to action on conserving resources for your county. You will need to create a campaign to educate community members.
Create a digital poster (24×36 or 18×24) for your community using the following components:
1. Aquifer Science (Carrizo-Wilcox, Gulf Coast, Queen City, Yegua Jackson, & Sparta)
2. Aquifer importance/threats
3. Groundwater Conservation Districts
4. Conservation of Resources
5. Call to Action for Communities– How does your community depend on groundwater?
